Смысловая разница между smb. do и doing после этих глаголов: с инфинитивом — действие закончено, с причатсием — действие в процессе.
I saw him fall to the ground. — Я видел, как он упал на землю.
I saw him walking along the street. — Я видел (например, проезжая мимо на машине), как он шел по улице.
I saw her enter the house and close the door.
I saw her entering the house.
We have often heard her sing.
I heard her singing in the next room.
We watched the boat disappear in the distance.
I didn’t notice you come in.
I didn’t hear you come in.
We heard him shouting orders to the other boys.
She suddenly felt someone touch her on the shoulder.
Did you notice anyone go out?
В такой конструкции инфинитив используется без to. Но в такой же, но ПАССИВНОЙ конструкции — с to.
She was seen to go out.
Verb + -ing
Если за следующими глаголами следует другой глагол, то он обычно стоит в —ing форме:

I don’t fancy going out this evening.

I can’t imagine George riding a motor-bike.
When I’m on holiday, I enjoy not having to get up early.
I don’t mind being told what to do.
I enjoy dancing.
She admitted stealing (having stolen) the money.
They now regret getting (having got) married.
He denied stealing (that he had stolen) the money.
Tom suggested going (that we went) to the cinema.
После следующих выражений также идет —ing форма:
Give up (=stop) Put off (=postpone)
Go on (=continue) Carry on (=continue)
Keep or Keep on (=do smth. continuously or repeatedly)
She kept (on) interrupting me while I was speaking.
Are you going to give up smoking?
Герундий в качестве дополнения преимущественно употребляется с глаголами, имеющими предложное управление, такими, как:
Accuse of — обвинять
Approve of — одобрять
Complain of — жаловаться на
Speak of — говорить о
Suspect of — подозревать в
Think of — думать о
Depend on — зависеть от
Insist on — настаивать на
Rely on — полагаться на
Agree to — соглашаться с
Look forward to — предвкушать
To object to — возражать против
Thank for — благодарить за
Feel like — хотеть
Look like — выглядеть
Prevent from — помешать
Succeed in — преуспеть в
Be afraid of — бояться
Be angry with — сердиться на
Be disappointed at — разочароваться в
Be pleased with — быть довольным
Be sorry for — сожалеть
Be surprised at — удивляться
Be tired of — устать
Be interested in — интересоваться

Например:
I don’t feel like going out today. — Мне не хочется никуда сегодня идти.

I was surprised at seeing him. — Я удивилась, увидев его.

instead of
without и т.д.
